HEADS UP

JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW IF YOU HUNT OUT OF STATE AND LIVE IN MAINE, THERE IS A LAW ON THE BOOKS NOW THAT BEFORE YOU CAN BRING YOUR DEER BACK INTO THE STATE OF MAINE IT MUST BE COMPLETELY DEBONED AND BUTCHERED..GOOD LUCK TO ALL THIS YEAR...

We have a similar law in NY. This is due to the CWD. :P

I'M NOT SURE..I DO KNOW THAT FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS NOW LIVING IN NH THAT WE CANNOT BRING A WHOLE DEER CARCUS IN FROM THE STATE OF NEW YORK..WE HAVE TO HAVE IT DEBONED DUE TO THE WASTING DECEASE...

only if it is shot in Oneida or Madison county where the CWD was found.

NOPE...ANY DEER TAKEN ANYWHERE IN NEW YORK MUST BE DEBONED PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO NEWHAMPSHIRE...IT'S NOT A STRICTLY ENFORCED LAW AS FAR AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY OTHER HUNTERS  BUT IT IS A LAW...

Any deer harvested in Oneida or Madison have to go to a check station to be tested for CWD. It is located in Oneida county. All other deer harvested do not have to be tested.

there's a bunch of towns in Maine where they are requesting hunters to have their deer tested, but it's not mandatory......yet    :-\

  That is true, but the law for any maine resident brining a deer back into maine from newyork must have it deboned first prior to entry back into maine....

Hmmmm sorry, i cannot answer that question..Im not sure if its mandatoey or not for all of new york state... :-\

               it's from ANY state other than maine, not just new york.  at least that's how I understand it.   ???
