What are the chances I could raise a decent rabbit beagle?

I want to get one beagle... just one.  I have never raised a dog to run rabbits in my life and really know nothing about it, except what I have read.  Does anyone think it is even possible for me to raise a decent dog that could make a good hunting partner on my own or do I need to find some experts in my area and get some help?

Definately can be done if the dog has the breeding and some natural ability.some hounds will just amaze you others need more time. It make's it a lot easier to get them trained to run if they have a teacher to learn from. Hounds are like kids. You get out of them what you put into them.
