I heard from my sister today. She told me "Dad told me how much he enjoyed going rabbit hunting with you on Saturday." My Dad had hip replacement surgery a few weeks ago and is almost 80 so my sister was a little confused until he told her how we did it. I called him up when we jumped a rabbit then put the phone in my vest pocket so he could hear the dogs. I would give him a little play-by-play when the dogs where at the far point of the run then he'd hear them getting closer and then the shot to end that run as the dogs & bunny got back. He told my sister he'd close his eyes and it was almost like he was there. This new technology in our lives isn't ALL bad! Dad should be up to perch & walleye in the boat soon...we'll leave the phone home for that trip- can't wait!

Been a few crappy days at work, and now the home laptop may be toast, but this story brought a smile to my face  ;)

Boy....that sure brought back a memory....used my portable radios to do almost the same thing for my dad....so important to keep those that mentored this love of ours involved with what we are doing....I'm sure he will be in the boat with you soon!!
