Amazing, must be a lot of pike where they were fishing. :o Now a bad trade off for the Lobster. 8) A pile of bass like that would have made me cry.

Keep dropping the hamma on those INVASIVES! 8) That KTP report makes me proud!

I made it twice in there with name drops and all LOL...........

This just in from Captain Jamie Savage at Dover Marine's Sport Shop: “Frank Wentworth has been fly-fishing the Cocheco River in Dover and landed several nice rainbows last week. He said the fishing was slow but expects it to pick up with this weeks rain washing lots of food into the river.”

“Frank caught some huge fish there last year and Trout Unlimited and the State of NH both take very good care of this river as well as the Lamprey River, which runs through Newmarket, Durham, and Lee. Special rules apply to sections of these rivers managed for trophy trout but don't be surprised to find big fish throughout the rivers which are very close to home for many of us. Check your NH Fishing Digest for regulations.”

.” Captain Jamie Savage at Dover Marine Sports sends this report. “I've been hearing some good reports from our trout fishermen this week. Matt and Newman had lots of action last Saturday at Pleasant Lake in Deerfield. They set up in front of an inlet and when the snow started melting the bite got so hot they ran out of bait after landing some nice rainbows and brookies. On Great East in Wakefield, Frank Wentworth landed a 21" rainbow with a big kype (hooked jaw) and dark colors. This lake has produced many nice bows over the last several years.”

(A recent set of photos of well over a hundred pike caught by a group of fourteen anglers and laid out on the ice at Sabattus Lake have been passed around on the Internet, causing a big stir about the lack of management of pike and the “trashfish” attitude some people have taken about northern pike.)
