Double banded black duck
« on: Dec 08, 2005, 10:54:01 AM »
Yesterday I jumped a black duck on a saltwater creek and after my lab delivers it I notice not one but two bands on the bird!
One of the bands is a 100$ reward band!
who says duck hunting doesn't pay. ;D

Thats awesome..... we have a lot of black ducks here in the Adirondacks and it isnt likely that we can all get one when we go. we have never got a banded one but that is cool. i would love to shoot a banded duck.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just got my certificate back from USGS/Dept of the Interior.
My double banded black duck was banded near Connor Maine, just north of Limestone Maine.
The bird was from this years hatch and was banded by Moosehorn NWR personnel.
My 100 bucks should arrive soon, meanwhile I will have to consider ways to spend it.
