I went to Winner, SD last year and it was awesome.  Pheasants were taking off in flocks of 1,000's.  It was incredible.

I lived at Winner for 15 years and left there about 5 years ago. We hunted north of Winner last year. The hunting was great but the temperature was too hot to really enjoy it. We hunted the same area the second weekend this year. Good number of birds but down considerably. There was still a lot of corn in the field but they were dry during the hatch this year. The local said they didn't see nearly the young birds this year. Still more birds than most states.

I got a total of 6 this year. not a great year. but it keeps meat in my freezer for awhile at least.
