A half rack two point came through right under my stand (~5yards)...let him pass knowing there was a larger buck in the area..didnt know he was this big.  He came out of the pines nose to the ground right on the trail of the smaller buck.  5 yard shot. He bolted like I've never seen.  Knew I hit him well but the arrow didnt pass.  His right shoulder blade stopped the arrow. Only a few drops of blood for about 70 yards.  Then slowly picked up the trail.  It was an uphill drag and man was I beat.  Toughest part was that I had to go to work right after I got him home.

Well, here was my 4x5 from last year. Nice heavy wide deer. Just lacked a little on tine length. Still looking for a hog for this year.

Every Deers a good one in my books Boys and Girls. ;) Here's a couple pics of my Whitetails from this Season. My 1st evening out I shot this Basket Buck with my Muzzleloader.

My 1st a.m. out for Rifle Deer on Nov.11/08 I shot this guy shortly after daybreak.

This Monday a.m. on my 1st day of Holidays,10 minutes after legal light I shot this nice one in the field opposite of where I shot the previous two. ;D

I wish you all a season as good as I've had. :) Shoot straight and "Hold on Hair" ;) ;D

I see bucks like these in my dreams every night. At 47 and being in the woods all my life, Started doing drives with Dad and my brothers at 8, I have never taken a large racked buck. All have been small basket 8 or 6 or spikes and fours. Though there are allot of them, I would giveanything to get a wall hanger. I have had chances, but things never worked out for some reason or another. You guys all have my congrats and respect. Good job all.

NIce heavy beamed Buck Joe! At the big 50 now Upstate;one thing I've learned only over the last few years is that you can't shoot Big Bucks if you keep shooting the smaller ones first. The older I get the easier it seems, to hold out for the bigger ones if thats what you want.
