« on: Apr 23, 2010, 05:04:25 PM »
i've had the rifle for 4 years and have yet to put a round in the chamber. whats the better grain and brand round for deer hunting?. most recent experience with firearms comes from the Army with ups and downs from a M16, to shoot it til its down with the .50 cal.  any help is greatly appreciated.

i go about an inch high at 100 yds. thats practical for me and where i hunt. I rarely would have a chance to shoot a deer much further than 200yds.

do you have a link or any input as to a trajectory path of a 7mm-08 round? straight with a gently down slope or does it go up and down?. the place where i've seen alot of deer tracks and plan to drop my first deer has about a 250-350 yrd range between the only two viable hide spots that would give me a crows nest look at the whole gravel pit. just curious what the round does

I would start with a 140gr. bullets and work up a load that shoots well, then try some other bullet weights???

The only way I can afford to shoot a lot is by reloading,I was lucky enough to buy primers before they became scarce....DD   ;D ;D ;D
