this might be a stupid question but i recently located a piebald buck on some land that i have permission to hunt I've heard in the past that it is supposedly bad luck to shoot one ... and I'm sure I like many of you do not need anymore bad luck in the woods than i already have so i was just wondering what everyone else has heard and if anyone has shot one have they experienced anything out of the ordinary??
-
have heard it was bad luck if you shot an albino, I think some places it may be illegal anyways. I have not heard the same for piebalds, me personally im not into that kinda thing if I see one its gettin stuck.

Superstitions will only effect you if your superstitious, it's psychosomatic. I'd go after him.
-
Bad luck is only in the mind.... Shoot it if you see it...
-
I'm part Indian so I am exempt from the bad luck.lol ;D it's getting shot at if I see one.
-
Put a hole in it!!
Yeah the Indians were real lucky us white men came and helped them out......... ;D
-
it is very bad luck. bad luck for him, good luck for you.

My Grandfather got a spike piebald in the late eightys, its on my kitchen wall right now. He took more deer after that one, so not too sure about the "bad luck" of taking a piebald.

"If you shoot an Albino you will never shoot another deer"
When I was working in Wisconsin I heard that saying. I think it is illegal to shoot an albino in that state as well.
The town I was working in had an Albino buck that was around for years. Tons of pictures and video footage of him. He finally got to the point that he was not able to walk anymore and someone called the DEC to put him out of his misery. The DEC officer that shot him had a heart attack that night. The taxidermist that was doing the full body mount, had his house burn down while it was in his garage studio, and it goes on and on. The deer was actually mounted finally and it was on display in the lobby of a local high school. I have pictures of it somewhere. If I can find them I will post them.

I am pretty sure you are correct about it being illegal to shoot an Albino in Wisconsin BIG NINE. I have heard that on a few hunting shows before as well.
-
